How Wild Safari Africa discovered its true calling as a Safari Specialist

(Or how I am different than travel agents)

I first adventured outside the U.S. in 2000 taking me to Scandinavia where the passion for international travel was sparked.  .

After receiving a degree in Geography, my blood boiled to explore new cultures.  I joined the U.S. Peace Corps with a desire to journey Africa.

Jeremy “Jermibia” Allen speaks the Bantu language Oshiwambo and has extensively traveled and researched Southern Africa.

I moved to the southern African nation of Namibia in 2006 where I served 27 months, LIVING IN A SMALL OWAMBO VILLAGE, teaching English at the tiny school deep in the African bush where clan law presided.

The village elders gave me the name Jeremiah between ancient proverbs and lively daily conversations.  My learners (students) whom I taught the English language nicknamed me Jermibia; and the name of authentic integration was born.

As a teacher, every 3 months during school holiday, I was presented with a great opportunity to get out and explore Southern Africa including the countries of Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho, and South Africa.

With nearly 3 years of hands on experience IN the region

In December 2008 at the finish of my Peace Corps contract, I set out to accomplish a lifelong goal of circumnavigating the world.  On the day I was crossing the border of India into Nepal, I was given a job to return back to Namibia to write the first edition of Other Places Travel Guide to Namibia.

I continued traveling east from Nepal, until I returned once again to the country I grew to love during the past few years.  Namibia was my home; however, it is the people, landscapes, animals, and wild frontier of southern Africa that has continued to bring me back to the region.

Jermibia created Wild Safari Africa with the sole purpose of getting others to experience this enigmatic region.

Many of my friends (clients) wanted to visit southern Africa, BUT they had concerns:

• Evil Tyrants and Corruption
• HIV/AIDS and Deadly Diseases

There was absolutely no need to worry, I have lived in the region for nearly 3 YEARS and with my detailed planning, insider knowledge, and offered advice assured my friends they were in good hands.
